I just hung up with my amazing Dr. G and I’ll be honest; I’m a bit of a mess – BUT IN A GOOD WAY!

Pathology is complete and as always, I’m a bit of an enigma!! It turns out that Larry the tumor was a high-risk ‘Adenoma’ (benign tumor) that contained weird stuff (too weird to type out) that would have definitely turned INTO cancer. But Dr. G in all her wisdom CUT HIM THE F OUT before he could turn into one!

When you thinking about how this whole thing started and how it’s ending – it truly is a miracle. At the end of January, I had an abdominal scan for my bladder (unrelated). They saw a liver lesion, however my initial doctor at the time said it was just my ‘fatty liver’. Another doctor followed up in June and said “NO! Get a new MRI of that liver now!”. And I did and you know the rest of the story.

It was originally thought to be Hepatocellular Carcinoma as all scans pointed to that – which is why Dr. G was like – no biopsy, just surgery to remove it. Now FINALLY after pathology has been returned from both Kellog Cancer Center and The Mayo Clinic – we know that it wasn’t OFFICIALLY a malignant tumor (HCC) – it was just f’ing Larry.

The prognosis is straightforward; I will have scans every 6 months – (because of all the stuff inside Larry) and will have to see a Hepatologist regularly to be monitored. And as I’ve mentioned I will require some major life changes to my diet in order to combat the Fatty Liver Disease I still have – but that is MANAGABLE!!

CAN I SCREAM?? Dr. G CUT HIM THE F OUT BEFORE Larry TURNED INTO CANCER!!!!! She was smart enough, brave enough and SKILLED enough to just dive in and save me. I simply cannot find the words of gratitude for her and her team to ever thank them enough. My heart and soul will be forever grateful and every single one of them will be in my daily prayers, blessings and vibes that I send to the universe. I’m just like Arya; I have a list I say every day – MOSTLY good, but some like hers.

OMG – and guess what?? I CAN DRINK! It’s not like I’m a huge drinker – but I can have a glass of wine or a beer occasionally! Oh, Rosé, Pinot Gris, Sav Blanc and Pinot Noir – how I’ve missed you!! Ladies, it’s a date for Cooper’s Hawk night for sure!! We gotta use up those bottles!!

I had to share the good news here! I’m beyond grateful. I recognize what a gift (bronnatanas) I’ve been given by my medical team (science), by my Guardian Angels up in the spirit world; by my family; friends & company and all their support AND finally by every higher power in the universe.

I am blessed beyond blessed and I will never take that lightly.
